Justin is an Electrical EIT in the Lubbock office. He joined PSC after about 6 years at Xcel energy and serving in the US Marine Corp. Justin is a native of Lubbock, pronounces his last name “Taf”, wanted to be a pilot when he grew up, and loves the show “Vampire Diaries”.
How did you first learn about PSC? I worked with PSC on a project when I was with Xcel Energy.
Before working at PSC, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had? Before PSC and before I graduated, I was in the USMC.
If you could pick one theme for PSC to turn into a book about the company, what would it be? Probably “Building Community”. I think that it is important to most people. Also, if you make it heartwarming enough, Lifetime can buy the movie rights.
If you could switch your job with anyone else within PSC, whose job would you want and why? Anyone at the front desk because of all the windows and you get to talk to all the people walking by.
What has been your favorite project at PSC? I haven’t worked on a lot of projects yet, but my favorite so far is the Texas School of the Blind & Texas School of the Deaf.
Best vacation? My favorite vacation is the one my wife and I took to New York.
What is your most embarrassing moment at PSC? During my first month at PSC, I was in the break room about to eat some Greek yogurt. When I opened the top the change in pressure caused yogurt to spray all over my shirt and face. I got to the napkins pretty quick!
Tell us about your family. My wife is named Kristina and we’ve been married just shy of 9 years. We have two children, Lincoln, who is almost 4 and Tinley Kate who is almost 2.
Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us. I like to build and fly quad-copters.
Tell us three things most people don’t know about you. 1) I was a little over a year out from graduating with a finance degree before I switched to engineering; 2) I have a boat that hardly gets used; and 3) I used to skateboard back in the day.
What celebrity do people think you look like? My wife likes to say that I resemble Johnny Depp, but I am almost positive she is just being nice.
What is your proudest moment at PSC? Don’t really have a proudest moment yet, but I feel pretty good anytime I beat a document deadline.
What phobias do you have? I hate spiders. You can’t see them coming until it is too late.
What’s the one thing you can’t live without? God and family. But my dogs are pretty cool too.
