Employee Spotlight – Kaysie DuBois
Kaysie is a drafting technician in PSC’s MEP/S Sector. Her experience includes a wide-range of projects, including schools, hospitals, fire stations, storm shelters, and religious institutions utilizing CMU, steel framing, and light gauge framing. Kaysie is from Angelton, Texas, is a self-proclaimed tom boy who enjoys working on race cars, rock crawlers and trucks. She is a volunteer fire fighter at Buffalo Springs Lake despite being extremely accident prone.
Tell us a little about yourself? I married my best friend, Justin, last summer. I love being outdoors, going camping and swimming. I am surprisingly good at working with my hands. I enjoy helping my husband work on go karts, jeeps, race cars & rock crawlers. I love being a fire fighter, but I am extremely accident prone, so I have to be extra careful. I have problems with most of the joints in my body, but I don’t let it slow me down. I try to stay positive in life.
Tell us a little bit about your family? The DuBois will be a party of three in 2017! Baby DuBois will make his/her debut! Surprise! Our first doctor’s appointment is this afternoon and we’ll know more then!
Before working at PSC, what was the most unusual/interesting job you’ve ever had? Drafting Professor’s Assistant, because I graded my own exams…he would check it, of course.
If you could switch your job with anyone else within PSC, who would it be and why? Mark Aaron Carpenter. He always seems to have a good time and he gets to go on job sites a lot.
If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who wuld you like to see cast as you? Jennifer Lawrence or Amy Shumer
What has been your favorite project at PSC? Jayne Ann Miller Elementary School. It was the first one I got to see during construction and it has stuck with me.
What is your proudest moment at PSC? When I got selected to teach at PSCU 2015 and go to AutoDesk university in 2016.
Tell us something that would surprise us. I was a girlscout for 12 years.
Tell us three things most people don’t know about you. 1. I am actually a really good artist. I love to draw and paint; 2. I absolutely hate pink and sparkly things; 3. I am allergice to lettuce…like kill me with one bite allergic.
What is one thing you can’t live without? My family, sweet tea and Mexican food.
