Public Forum Updates EPCC Campus & Community before Groundbreaking Ceremony
For a year PSC has been working with El Paso Community College (EPCC) to provide architectural design services for a new Academic Classroom and Parking Garage Facility at the Rio Grande Campus. The project scope for the new 7-story building includes a 400-space parking garage on the first five floors and 65,200 SF of academic spaces on the top two floors. Plans for a courtyard and vertical plantscaping were also created to add an outdoor element to the project.
The uniqueness of the Rio Grande Campus in comparison to the other EPCC campuses is that it is the only campus in an urban setting that sits within neighboring historic areas. The existing campus and the distinctness of the new building’s design reflect the area’s character.
A public forum was held to provide updates to the campus & surrounding community about this new project. Mary Stills, AIA, discussed the plans for the project and took an opportunity to thank those involved.
“We had really excellent professionals working on this project,” Mary said, “and it makes me proud to work alongside them.
A groundbreaking ceremony will take place on May 4 at 10 am.
